Received a phone call from a lady in Rayville, LA today asking for help for a friend's dogs. Her friend was a breeder who just recently passed away from cancer. I believe she lived in Rayville too. She says that her friend's ex husband is her only next of kin and he is from New York so he can't take the dogs nor does he want to. She thinks that he may try to have them euthenized if she can't find homes for them.

There are about 35 dachshunds and a few more of other breeds. She said that most of them are breeding age, but a few are older and need pet homes only. All coats, pies, dapples and solids.

I've contacted one of the rescue operations, but have yet to hear back from them.

The lady's name who called me is Ronda Wallace. Her number is 318-498-1965. If anyone can help, please let her know. I am at my peak at this time and wish I could take in some, but I just don't have the room.

I hope they find some help...that is a lot to find homes for. Hopefully some of the small breed rescues will help as well.
